I've been working on this game for a few years now. At this point in time it has 83955 characters - equivelant to 16,000 words. If you were to copy and paste this into a word document it would be about 41 pages long. For the longest time I had no idea where to go with it. I would add random features to the game but with absolutely no direction. It was basically a sandbox for me to test new ideas on. I knew that if I tried to make the game serious nobody would play it. The game had to be something that was somewhat funny and very random.
Every time I added a feature to the game I made it very expandable. All of the code is seperated into different files and is very organized. Now that I have most of the physics created I can just add the story part and relavent graphics into the game. Instead of spending time creating the levels for each game, I created a program so that anybody can draw a level and send it to my database. After many levels have been created by the Dumb Games users I can test them for quality control. After I have all of the levels chosen I will put them into an order that fits the game. This map maker will be released in the near future. I'm waiting until I finish adding land types into the game.
If you would like to help create sprites for the game or have any ideas PLEASE email me at firstname.lastname@example.org; I need all the help I can get. And no, you don't have to be talented whatsoever to create graphics. You only have to be creative. I want to make this game big enough to keep people busy for a long time. I'm trying to make a massive game rather than a bunch of smaller worthless ones. I've learned that people like quality much more than quantity when it comes to making games.
